Prithviraj's wife Supriya Menon took to her Instagram stories and wrote, "Grief is such a personal emotion. To see a grieving family not have any space to mourn their beloved is so tragic. Multitudes of cameras/mobile phones everywhere. Selfie takers in the corners, people pointing to the actors walking in. Many of whom are mourning their beloved colleague. Don’t the dead & the living they leave behind deserve better? What a spectacle every moment of life has become… Cannot imagine the pain of the family who are in the midst of this tragedy. Shouldn’t we self reflect & course correct? How much coverage is too much? Do we need to crowd around the last rites beaming it for everyone to see… a broken down family trying to say goodbye to their Beloved."

I do not know how to confine in words the bond I shared with him. Our relationship went far beyond the definition of merely having worked together in cinema. And indeed, every Malayali shared a similar soulful connection with Srini. Malayalis saw their own faces in the characters Srini created. Through him, they saw their own pains and joys, their losses and longings, reflected on the screen. Who else could portray the dreams and shattered dreams of the middle class the way Srini did? The characters we created together endure beyond time solely because of the magic in Srini’s writing. That Dasan and Vijayan became people of one’s own for every Malayali is due entirely to the blessed brilliance of Srini’s writing. His creations were a reflection of society itself. He was the beloved one who transformed pain into laughter. On screen and in life, like Dasan and Vijayan, we laughed together, enjoyed together, quarreled, reconciled, and journeyed on endlessly. I pray for eternal peace for the soul of dear Srini."
