Are you fond of adding a slice of extra cheese to your burger when you visit a fast-food joint? Well, many people are fond of cheeseburgers but Burger King’s latest offering in Thailand is something that may be a bit too excessive for even hardcore cheese lovers.

The multinational fast-food chain has caused a stir in Thailand with its latest offering called “real cheeseburger”. The burger consists of buns filled with as many as 20 slices of American cheese and contains no meat or any other ingredient.

The item was launched on Thai menus Sunday and is priced at 109 Thai baht (Rs 258 approx). It is a reduced price compared with the usual price of 380 baht (Rs 900 approx), it informed in a Facebook post. The new item quickly went viral on social media in Thailand, with many users posting videos on TikTok of them trying the new burger.

“Buy and separate the cheese to eat with bread in the morning,” a Facebook user commented in Thai. “Try it. It’s delicious,” said another user posting his photo of trying the burger.

A CNN report quoted many customers who did not like the offering. Im Jeepetch, a 25-year-old IT engineer, said she loved cheese but “this was a bit too much.” “I could only finish half of it,” she said, wiping her mouth with a tissue. “This is an insane amount of cheese added into one burger. Food is good when things are at the right combination.”

Another customer echoed that view, calling the cheeseburger “too intense.” “I may not try it again. I like a few slices of cheese in my burger but not this much,” said Alisa Chuengviroj.
