Another thing to note here is that sending a Compliment to someone will count as a right swipe. (Image credit: Bumble) Bumble, the dating app that rivals the likes of Hinge and Tinder today announced a new feature called ‘Compliments’, which lets users send messages to others before they are matched.
According to a new study done by Bumble in June, 85 per cent of Indians said they are more interested in someone when they get a compliment from a potential romantic partner. Anyone using the app will be able to send two Compliments every week on a person’s profile prompts, bio or images.
The receiver can see them via their main Encounters page as well as through someone’s Beeline. Bumble will also send a notification when users launch the app or if they have unread compliments.
In case you like the person who sent the Compliment, you can match with them by swiping right within 24 hours before it expires. On the Beeline, users will get a notification pop-up on the grey heart at the bottom of the screen. Clicking on it will take you to a new screen where you can reveal up to 5 Compliments every day along with a condensed version of the person who sent it.
To send a Compliment on Bumble, you need to find the part of their profile you want to comment on. The app will display a yellow icon with a heart inside on the bottom left side of the screen, clicking on it will open a new text box where you can type. Keep in mind that Compliments has a 150-character limit.
Another thing to note here is that sending a Compliment to someone will count as a right swipe. If you are matched with the other person, it will be equivalent to initiating a conversation, otherwise, you can only text them if they respond to your Compliment.
Once you run out of Compliments to send, you can buy more from the app itself. The Compliments you purchase won’t expire.
