Welcoming Zoellick

World Bank chief Robert Zoellick has been doing the rounds of the corridors of power here. Apart from preparing for meetings with him,ministers and top bureaucrats are also following a strict dietary restriction as Zoellick is reportedly allergic to nuts. A senior Cabinet minister,who had got a gift pack of nuts for Zoellick,had to send his aides to get another gift at the last minute. Meanwhile,as Zoellick lunched at a five-star hotel with the Finance Minister,his staff showed little concern for climate change. The S-class Mercedes parked outside guzzled litres of fuel for over an hour just to keep the inside temperature constant. The driver did turn it off when some mediapersons remarked on it,but turned it on again at the insistence of bank officials accompanying Zoellick.
