Top cop says CBI framed her in Prajapati case

“The most glaring act of the CBI which revealed their partisan attitude to me became obvious from the fact that despite my submissions to… directors of CBI Shri Ashwini Kumar and Shri Amar Pratap Singh that during the period (22/12/06 to 3/01/07) I was on leave,it was deliberately ignored… The charge during the leave period was held by another senior officer,Keshav Kumar. The CBI totally ignored this fact in its eagerness to implicate me for alleged inaction and delay in granting permission to PI V L Solanki during that very leave period… CBI hid this fact in its chargesheet in the Prajapati case,thus misleading the court,” Johri stated in her email. “… if Solanki knew about possible encounter killing of Prajapati,why did he not approach the officer in-charge Keshav Kumar immediately when I was actually on leave?” she said.

Johri said that during her questioning by CBI,she felt she was forced to “toe a particular line of action to which she resisted as a result of which she has been implicated and made an accused in the Prajapati case”. “The CBI also invented an imaginary meeting between me and the then MoS (home) Amit Shah…,” she stated .

As IG (CID) in 2006,Johri had probed the 2005 Sohrabuddin encounter as part of the preliminary inquiry directed by the Supreme Court on a habeas corpus petition filed by Sohrabuddin’s brother Rubabuddin for his missing sister-in-law Kauser Bi. It was Johri who first revealed how Sohrabuddin’s wife Kauser Bi was also killed along with him.

Ironically,with the recent SC ruling that the encounter killings of Sohrabuddin and Prajapati be treated as one case since they are related,Johri is likely to become an accused in the Sohrabuddin case which she once investigated.
