The austerity business

The Centres austerity drive created a peculiar situation last week when DMK ministers A Raja and Dayanidhi Maran boarded the Indian Airlines flight IC-440 from Chennai to Delhi last week. They were in economy class,along with AIADMK MP V Maitreyan. It so happened that Raja and Maitreyan were upgraded to business class while Marans ticket could not get upgraded. To add to the awkward situation,neither of them could have offered his upgraded seat to Maran,as the latter was travelling with his family.
