TDP brings Seemandhra cause to Delhi

Apart from BJP chief Rajnath Singh,Naidu met CPM general secretary Prakash Karat.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is leaving no stone unturned to tap the discontent in the Seemandhra region over the creation of a Telangana state,in a bid to revive his political fortunes. Arriving in Delhi Saturday,he met leaders across the spectrum as also President Pranab Mukherjee seeking his intervention.

Apart from BJP chief Rajnath Singh,Naidu met CPM general secretary Prakash Karat. While his party has supported bifurcation, the TDP chief has nuanced his stand, with an eye on votes.

Naidu urged the President to direct the UPA government to hold talks with agitating people from both the sides. In a memorandum,he accused the Congress of handling the sensitive issue with political motives.

Naidu will meet Sharad Yadav and senior CPI leader A B Bardhan Sunday. Naidus political fear is the merger of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti with the Congress or a possible alliance between the YSR Congress and Congress.
