SBI today said its gross non performing assets ratio has come down to 4.5 per cent in the fourth quarter ended March,down from 5.3 per cent in the preceding three-month period,hinting that the nations largest bank has been able to improve asset quality.
Our gross non-performing assets ratio has come down to 4.5 per cent, chairman Pratip Chaudhuri told reporters here,adding the numbers are provisional as the banks fourth quarter earnings are yet to be audited.
On absolute basis,the gross non-performing assets have come down to Rs 49,000 crore from the Rs 52,000 crore earlier in Q3 October-December,he said,attributing the improvement to both cash recoveries and upgrading of accounts.
Will go full throttle to recover KFA dues
Mumbai: Banks will continue to sell pledged shares of Kingfisher airline and invoke all other securities till they get back the dues,SBI Chairman Pratip Chaudhuri said today. We have given instructions to recover and enforce all the securities. Our intention is to sell everything. Till such time as we will get back our dues in full,we will press our full recourse on all the securities that we possess, he said. pti
