Railway Protection Force RPF Director General Ranjit Sinha is clearly unimpressed with the manner in which the force is conducting itself. In a recent communication to his officers, the RPF chief wrote in detail about the indiscipline and lack of supervision that he noticed during surprise night checks of barracks in some divisions. Pointing out that a sizeable number of personnel were found absent from the barracks,Sinha wrote: On further probe,it was revealed that no surprise checks of barracks was done and the practice of morning and evening roll calls given a decent burial. I was wondering how many of our men would be available if,God forbid, another Mumbai type attack took place at night.
