A group of young tourists in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra sparked outrage after they vandalised a homestay they had booked while visiting the city. In a video circulating online, several men are seen damaging property and recording the act.
As the video progresses, the person filming pans the camera to one of his friends, who is seen jumping on beds with his shoes on and trying to soil the sheets. He then remarks that they paid Rs 500 for the room and asks his friends whether they enjoyed their stay.
Meanwhile, one of them can be seen stomping on blankets and using them to clean the floor. “Chill mar diya hai pura (We had a blast here),” another man can be heard saying in the video.
The man filming then reveals that they stole a bulb from the property before leaving. The exact date of the incident is not known.
Sharing the video, an X user, Nikhil Saini, wrote, “Someone gives you space at such a low cost at a world famous tourist spot and this is the behaviour. Running over beds with shoes, damaging property, zero civic sense. Paying 500 and still stealing things and trashing the room. Hope they are identified and held accountable.”

The video quickly gained traction, amassing over a million views and sparking backlash over the lack of civility among Indian travellers.
“But why are they doing this? Only crazy people would do such things without reason. They must have a reason right?” a user wrote.
“Historically, the cane has always been the only answer for people with zero civic sense. They don’t understand kindness; they only understand discipline. Identify them and make them pay for every single bit of damage,” another user commented.
“People like these must be arrested and blacklisted constantly to bring about some change in our society. if empathy and civic sense isn’t taught or learnt, it must be forced,” a third user reacted.
