PIL in SC seeks probe by SIT

The petition claims the state government had a discriminatory approach and more concerned about one particular community.

A fresh PIL was filed in the Supreme Court Tuesday,demanding a court-monitored investigation into the Muzaffarnagar communal riots on the line of the 2002 Gujarat riots. The PIL by the residents of the violence-hit area has requested the court to order for setting up a special investigation team SIT,to be headed by an officer from outside UP.

The petition claims the state government had a discriminatory approach and the administration seemed more concerned about one particular community.
