Over 50,000 attend ‘save Andhra’ rally

The day-long rally,‘Save Andhra Pradesh’,was organised by AP Non-Gazetted Officers Association.

More than 50,000 people from Coastal and Rayalaseema districts attended a rally on Saturday to keep Andhra Pradesh united,at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad. The day-long rally,‘Save Andhra Pradesh’,was organised by AP Non-Gazetted Officers Association.

As people started converging at the stadium,they were greeted with stones raining down from the hostels of Nizam College. Several people were injured in the stone-pelting,allegedly by pro-Telangana activists who had taken over the hostel building. Policemen,who also came under attack,used teargas to disperse the activists. The police also foiled Osmania University students from marching from the campus to the stadium.
