Mamta Mohandas,the Malayalam actress who debuted in Tamil with the Vishal film Sivappathikaaram and later did a cameo in Kuselan and acted in Guru En Aalu,went on to make her presence felt in Telugu too. Now,Mamta gets ready to make her comeback to Tamil,courtesy director Ameer. Mamta will be seen in Aadhibhagavan,in which she will be playing a rich NRI. She is also acting at present in Malayalam in Katha Thudarum and Anwar.
Ajmal Ameer back in Malayalam
Ajmal Ameer,the actor who made his debut with the Malayalam film Pranayakalam,now gets ready for a comeback to Malayalam after a successful stint in Tamil. The actor,who was last seen in Malayalam in Madambi,had made an impressive debut in Tamil Anjathey. He has a couple of films coming up,namely Ko and Karuppampatti. Ajmal had also acted in an international multi-lingual film,titled Denova. The actor will be seen in Malayalam with Makaranilaavu,to be directed by P.K. Radhakrishnan. It has Dhanya Mary Varghese playing the heroine and the cast also includes Manikuttan,Jagathy Sreekumar,Arun,Suraaj Venjaramoodu,Harisri Ashokan,Mythili and Urmila Unni.
Four Friends,an entertainer
He narrated the story of three husbands in Happy Husbands,and now Saji Surendran will tell a story of Four Friends. Jayaram,Jayasurya and Kunchacko Boban are the male members of the gang of friends. The actress who is to play the fourth member of the group is yet to be finalised. This would be a light entertainer.
Kavalkaaran in full swing
Vijay,who is getting ready to hit the screens soon with his 50th film Sura,is also busy with Kavalkaaran,the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film,Bodyguard. The original,which had Dileep and Nayantara in the lead role,was directed by Siddique,who is directing Kavalkaaran too. The film has Asin playing Vijays heroine while Roja and Rajkiran will play Asins parents. Bodyguard is reportedly going to be remade in Hindi too.
Ram Charan Teja gets busy
Ram Charan Teja,who is currently acting in Orange,directed by Bommarillu fame Bhaskar,is all set to act in the next film by director Dharani. Its learnt that the film,which will be produced by Mega Super Good Films,will be a romantic comedy and will have Kajal Agarwal as the heroine . Kajal was Ram Charan Tejas heroine in Magadheera and is a popular actress all over the South. The Dharani film,likely to be a big-budget one,will start rolling in May.
Debasree Roy robbed
Unidentified armed persons waylaid a vehicle in which popular Bengali film actress Debasree Roy was travelling and fled away with mobilephones and money in West Midnapore district in Jhargam in West Bengal.
The incident happened on April 21 when Roy,who had won the National award in 1996 for Bengali film Unishe April,was on her way to Kolkata with some members of her troupe,after a show at Gopiballavpur.
The miscreants had blocked the road by felling the trees at Netura. As Roys vehicle halted they surrounded it and smashed the windscreen,injuring the driver. They fled and the driver then drove back to Gopiballavpur police station where the actress and others spent the night. She left for Kolkata the next morning.
