Dr Reddy8217;s,Pfizer settle Lipitor litigation

Drug firm Dr Reddy's Laboratories today said it has entered into a settlement agreement with Pfizer to resolve litigation over cholesterol lowering Lipitor tablets.

Drug firm Dr Reddy8217;s Laboratories today said it has entered into a settlement agreement with Pfizer to resolve litigation over cholesterol lowering Lipitor tablets.

The Hyderabad-based firm has settled patent litigation with Pfizer over Lipitor tablets,generically known as Atorvastatin Calcium tablets,in the strengths of 10 mg,20mg,40 mg and 80 mg,Dr Reddy8217;s said in a statement.

8220;The terms of the agreement are confidential,and the agreement itself is subject to review by the US Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission,8221; it said.

New York-based Pfizer had sued Dr Reddy8217;s in 2009. Shares of Dr Reddy8217;s Laboratories today closed at Rs 1,493.85 on the Bombay Stock Exchange,up 1.89 per cent from its previous close.
