Copper futures fell marginally by Rs 0.35,or 0.10 per cent today as traders booked profits,taking cues from weak global markets. At the Multi Commodity Exchange,copper for June contract eased by Rs 0.35,or 0.10 per cent to Rs 351.65 per kg in turnover of 483 lots. The metal for delivery in April also shed Rs 0.20,or 0.06 per cent to Rs 349.40 per kg with an open interest of 4,132 lots. Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators to book profits in line with weak trend at the London Metal Exchange put pressure on copper futures prices. Meanwhile,copper at the LME fell by USD 32,or 0.40 per cent to USD 7,873 per tonne,while at Shanghai,it dropped by 450 yuan to 62,100 yuan per tonne.
