Code flouted,FIR over Rahul roadshow

The Kanpur district administration on Monday lodged an FIR against Rahul Gandhi,Congress district president Mahesh Dixit and others for violating the model code of conduct and creating nuisance by extending the Amethi MPs roadshow beyond permitted time and place.

We had informed the district Congress leaders well in advance about the religious procession on Mahashivratri and movement of forces which were likely to interfere with the roadshow,but they did not listen to our advice and followed their own route putting the life of Rahul Gandhi and others at stake, District Magistrate and District Election Officer Hariom said.

An FIR has been lodged against Rahul Gandhi,Mahesh Dixit and unnamed Congress supporters for violating section 144 of CrPc and for creating public nuisance, he said.
