CBI questions Arvind Jayaswal

The CBI on Monday questioned Arvind Jayaswal in connection with the alleged misrepresentation and concealing of facts by his company,AMR Iron and Steel Pvt Ltd,for getting Bander coal block in Maharashtra in 2008

The CBI on Monday questioned Arvind Jayaswal in connection with the alleged misrepresentation and concealing of facts by his company,AMR Iron and Steel Pvt Ltd,for getting Bander coal block in Maharashtra in 2008. Arvind,brother of mining baron Manoj Jayaswal,is one of the directors of the company and has been named by the CBI in its FIR against AMR.

Officials said that Arvind arrived at the CBI headquarters around 11 am and was grilled for nearly eight hours. The agency believes that Arvind is among the group of representatives who met the then minister of state for coal Santosh Bagrodia in his chamber. Arvind was also confronted with various documents related to the allocation.

The agency is likely to call for questioning other directors of the company,including Manoj Jayaswal and the son of Congress MP Vijay Darda,Devendra,who are accused in the case,said officials.
