Melbourne:Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard Thursday promised to look into allowing Sikhs to wear turbans at work places and also while riding a motorcycle. “We will work with your community to help make the necessary changes requested on cultural and religious grounds,” she assured Australian Sikh Association at a Gurdwara in Glenwood.

Four Indians get death for Malaysia murders

Kuala Lumpur:Four ethnic Indians,including a lawyer,were Thursday sentenced to death by a Malaysian court for gruesome killing of a glamorous cosmetics tycoon and three of her associates in 2010 in a land deal gone awry. The Malaysian High Court found lawyer N Pathmanabhan,44,T Thilaiyalagan,22,R Matan,23,and R Kathavarayan,33,guilty of murdering Sosilawati,47 at a farm in Banting town on August 30. Victims’ bodies were torched and remains scattered in a stream in the farm,according to police.
