Fonseka looks forward to Indias support
COLOMBO: Former top General Sarath Fonseka,expected to run as the Sri Lankan Presidential candidate,on Wednesday said that he was looking forward to support from India for his nations future. I will always do all I can to fulfil the aspirations of the people, Fonseka said when asked whether he would contest against Rajapaksa. The former army chief said he would go public with his plans soon.
11 more bodies found in Philippines
AMPATUAN: Philippine security forces found 11 more bodies on Wednesday at the site of an election-related massacre in the south of the country,taking the toll to 57 dead,officials said. Not all have been identified,but 22 of them were believed to be journalists. An emergency was clamped in Maguindanao province,where the killings took place,and in Sultan Kudarat province and Cotabato City.
Washington Post to shut three bureaus
WASHINGTON: The Washington Post is closing down its bureaus in New York,Los Angeles and Chicago,the newspaper said in a report. While the six correspondents who were working in the bureaus would retain their jobs,three new assistants would lose their jobs. The Washington Post Cos newspaper division,lost US 166.7 million in first three quarters of 2009.

LONDON: Google has apologised for a racist caricature of Michelle Obama that became the top result for users searching images of the US First Lady. Anyone typing Michelle Obama into Google Images on Wednesday morning,was presented with an altered photo depicting the US presidents wife with animal features.
