‘Prabhas is like a 5 year old, his intentions are that pure,’ says The Raja Saab co-star Nidhhi Agerwal: ‘No politics no PR, he isn’t like that’
Actor Nidhhi Agerwal shared her experience of working with Prabhas on The Raja Saab and spoke about what he is like as a person.
Nidhhi Agerwals calls Prabhas' energy childlike during filming.
Although Prabhas’ latest film, The Raja Saab, did not receive the best reviews, the actor was at the receiving end of some heartfelt praise from his co-star Nidhhi Agerwal. She recently spoke about her experience working with the Telugu superstar and shared what she learned from him.
The actor made an appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia’s show, where she shared many realities of the film industry, which she realised later on in life. While talking about the ‘dark’ side of the gig, she said, “I sometimes ask myself, ‘Why did I choose such a difficult profession?’ I don’t regret the work; I love acting and I love talking to my directors, but it’s the other part that I don’t love. The games, the politics — I feel like I am not made for these things. I recently got an eye-opener regarding this when I worked with Prabhas… He is exactly like this.”
Nidhhi continued, “There are no games, no politics, no fakeness — just none of that. I always wondered whether I could make it big being this soft and nice person. He is even more childlike than me, and if he can be all that while being India’s biggest superstar, which I feel he is, and if he can be all that, then I feel that being that way is better, isn’t it?”
Nidhhi Agerwal credited Prabhas for being extremely down to earth and said that the actor is very detached from the pedestal he is often put on by his fans. “He has a pure core, and he is like the white heart emoji. He is a very lovely human being, and even though he is an actor, once you meet him, you’ll forget all about that. You’ll forget the fact that he has worked in this industry for the last 20-25 years. He’s not like that… He isn’t a commercial guy with PR teams, and he doesn’t have the politics that go around. It’s like meeting a 5-year-old; his intentions are that pure,” said Nidhhi.
Talking about Baahubali and what it did for Prabhas’ career, Nidhhi pointed out that he worked extremely hard for a long time and was then able to deliver such a career-defining film. She said, “He is so respectful of films and filmmaking. I mean I have newfound respect for him after working with him. The nicest person I have met in my life, not in the industry, in my entire life. What people see is just Baahubali, but the internal journey is important as well. To shoot for 5 years for the same film, I mean, it’s very physically taxing. When the film released, people thought it was going to be a disaster — it took people time to accept the film.”
When asked whether Prabhas would have cared if Baahubali flopped or whether he cares about box office performance in general, Nidhhi replied, “I think he is very detached from the results, and I’m thinking that his is the right way. He does his job and gives it his best. Everything happens at its own pace; when it’s the right time, everything falls into place. But when it’s the wrong time, you can move heaven and earth and nothing will work out.”
Directed by Maruthi Dasari, the cast of The Raja Saab included Prabhas, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Malavika Mohanan and Sanjay Dutt.
