MUZAFFARNAGAR:
The district authorities have closed the examination centre at Bawala,after its superintendent Devender Kumar was allegedly manhandled by some people who demanded that unfair means be allowed during the state board exams,scheduled to commence on March 17. Following a complaint from the superintendent of the centre,it has been closed. The 500 examinees would be appearing in another centre, District Inspector of Schools Bhim Singh said.

18 teachers suspended in Bihar for forgery
SASARAM:
As many as 18 teachers of panchayat schools have been suspended on the charge of getting jobs on the basis of forged certificates in Bihars Rohtas district,an official said on Sunday. The teachers were suspended on Saturday on the basis of an inquiry report which found their education certificates to be fake,District Magistrate Anupam Kumar said. He said the block education officials had been directed to lodge FIR against the suspended teachers.

Kidnapped 6-year-old boy rescued,seven arrested
MUZAFFARNAGAR:
A six-year-old boy who was kidnapped from Deoband near here,has been found and seven persons were arrested for allegedly kidnapping him,police said on Sunday. Aman,son of a businessman Amit Ratra,was kidnapped near his residence on March 7,while he was returning from school,SSP V K Dohrey told reporters. Seven persons,including two women,were arrested for the kidnapping and demanding a ransom of Rs 50,000.

7 Pak nationals held off Kutch
JAMNAGAR:
Seven Pakistani nationals have been arrested and their boat seized for entering Indian waters near Jhakhau off the west coast of Kutch district,Indian Coast Guard officials said on Sunday. The boat named Al-Shakira was intercepted on Saturday evening when the Coast Guard team was patrolling the Arabian Sea near the Indo-Pak maritime border. The arrested Pakistan nationals are being brought to Okha in Jamnagar,where they would undergo an interrogation.

Army jawan shoots self
JAISALMER:
An Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his gun in field firing range here,police said on Sunday. The victim identified as Gurdeep Singh,hailing from Punjab killed himself on Saturday night,they said,adding that the reason behind the extreme step was yet to be ascertained.

Jawan falls from train,dies
Jammu:
CRPF jawan Satinder Kumar died on Sunday after he allegedly fell from a moving train in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir,the police said. Kumar,a jawan of 60 Battalion of the CRPF,was killed when he fell from the door of fast moving Jammu-bound Shalimar Express near Govindsar village of Kathua district,they said. He was returning from his home in Meerut to join duty in Srinagar when the accident happened. The body was handed over to the CRPF after the post mortem and further probe into the matter is on,they added.
