Bomb scare in Spicejet flight
KOLKATA: Following the discovery of a chit which said that a bomb was planted in a Chennai-Kolkata Spicejet flight,the plane was taken to isolation bay soon after it landed at the NSC Bose Airport here on Sunday. The CISF and police conducted a thorough search of passengers and their baggage,Airport Director R Srinivasan said. The bomb disposal squad was also called in. However,nothing suspicious was found.
Chimney collapse: 2 GDCL officials held
KORBA: Police arrested absconding GDCL officials Sunil Sinh and Alok Sinh in connection with the Balco chimney collapse,from Korba on Saturday,SP Ratan Lal Dangi said on Sunday. A local court sent the two in judicial custody. The two were on the run since the chimney collapsed on September 23,2009.
Thilakan will be protected: Minister
KOCHI: After actor Thilakan alleged he had got a death threat for his outbursts against superstars, Kerala Minister for Culture and Education M A Baby Sunday said necessary steps would be taken to protect the actors life. Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes had earlier asked Thilakan to tender an apology for his outburst against superstars.
Ramdev to field candidates for polls
Shillong: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev said Sunday that he would put up good candidates in the next Lok Sabha election to replace the current corrupt political system in the country. He,however,dodged a query on whether
