Additional charge slapped on Raja

The supplementary chargesheet,while elaborating the Rs 200-crore flow between DB Realty and DMK-run Kalaignar TV through a circuitous route that operated as quid pro quo for the grant of Unified Access Service UAS licences to Swan Telecom by DoT,names five more accused including Kanimozhi.

Of the five,Kusegaon Realty Ltd directors Asif Balwa and Rajeev Aggarwal are already in judicial custody,though they were not named in the first chargesheet. The other two are Cineyug Media amp; Entertainment Ltd director Karim Morani and Kalaignar TV director Sharad Kumar.

While in the first chargesheet Raja was charged with various provisions of IPC and PoC Act,including criminal conspiracy,cheating,criminal misconduct by a public servant,the agency on Monday also imposed an additional charge

under Section 7 of the PoC Act Public servant taking gratification other than legal remuneration in respect of an official act.
