Acid attack victim dies

The victim of the June 17 acid attack succumbed to her injuries at Hazaribaghs Sadar Hospital Wednesday.

Lalita Devi 22 was attacked by her brother-in-law Sunil Yadav on June 17. Yadav was angry as Devi had remarried after separating from his brother. My information suggests that there is only one accused. He has been arrested and we will chargesheet him, SP Manoj Kaushik said.

The cause of Lalitas death is yet to be ascertained. Sources said Lalita Devi had not received the compensation amount as announced by the Supreme Court on July 18.
