North: Many places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarkhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan and a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan.

Central: Many places in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chattisgarh.

Peninsula: Many places in Saurashtra, Kutch, Konkan, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, Kerala; a few places in Gujarat region, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

The southwest monsoon has further advanced into most parts of Arabian sea, remaining parts of Gujarrat state, some parts of east Rajasthan, most parts of Madhya Pradesh, some parts of west Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, most parts of east Uttar Pradesh, entire Uttarkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and some parts of Punjab.

The northern limit of monsoon passes through Latitude 24 degree North/Longitude 60 degree East, Latitude 24 degree N/Longitude 65 degree E, Deesa, Udaipur, Guna, Jhansi, Fetehpur, Bahraich, Pantnagar, Patiala and Jammu.

Also, conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into remaining parts of the country during the next 2-3 days.

The off-shore trough at sea level from south Gujarat coast to Kerala coast persists. The trough at sea level passes through Ferozepur, Muzaffarnagar, Lucknow, Hazaribagh, Sagar island and thence southeastwards to east central Bay.

The cyclonic circulation over Saurashtra, Kutch and neighbourhood persists and now lies between 2.1 and 5.8 kms a.s.l. A cyclonic circulation lies over central Pakistan and adjoining west Rajasthan and extends upto 1.5 kms a.s.l.

Another cyclonic circulation extending upto 4.5 kms a.s.l. lies over central parts of Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood. The western disturbance as an upper air system extending up to 3.6 kms a.s.l. over Jammu and Kashmir and neighbourhood has moved away northeaswards. A fresh western disturbance as an upper air system extending up to 4.5 kms a.s.l. lies over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. System is likely to move eastnortheastwards. The cyclonic circulation over Chattisgarh and neighbourhood has become less marked.

In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, the day temperatures were below normal in west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan.

Total rainfall during the past 24 hours at 173 available stations in the plains, out of 291 stations, is 176 cms. Normal for the above 173 stations is 102 cms.

The southwest monsoon has been active in coastal Karnataka.
