New Delhi, March 22: The Vizzy Trophy committee has sought the help of the Board of Control for Cricket in India to reorganise university cricket in a manner that 8220;gives boost to domestic cricket8221;.

This was one of the salient features of the Vizzy Trophy observer8217;s report which was submitted to the BCCI president, Dr AC Muthiah, on Wednesday.

The report further said, 8220;Rohinton Baria Trophy must be revived in all seriousness and university cricket should be run on days basis and not on one-day basis as conducted at present.8221;

The report recommended the concept of Combined University teams should be revived and should be fielded in NKP Salve Challenger Trophy and against visiting teams.

The Vizzy Trophy committee chairman and one of the vice-presidents of BCCI, CK Khanna, while submitting the report to Dr Muthiah pleaded that, 8220;it should be made mandatory that BCCI junior selector of the zone must attend the meeting of selection committee for making zonal team for Vizzy Trophy, as recommended.8221;

He asked the BCCI chief to look into the financial aspect of Vizzy Trophy and 8220;bring it at par with senior tournaments, including allowance to players and selectors.8221;

The observer8217;s report is expected to be placed before the next meeting of the BCCI.
