Sneha Joshi resigns
Officer on Special Duty of the Faculty of Law, M S University, Sneha Joshi has resigned from her post. According to university sources, Joshi cited personal reasons for putting in her papers; she was not available for comment. K Khedkar of the Faculty of Commerce has been appointed in her place.
Water supply
Residents drawing supply from Channi, Sayajibaug, Jail Road and Lalbaug water tanks will get water at low pressure on Tuesday evening as there will be no electricity supply at the Fajalpur well from 9 am to 1 pm on the day, according to a VMC release.
Fountain shows
To meet the increasing demand, the VMC has decided to increase the duration of the dancing and musical fountain shows at the Vrindavan Garden in Ajwa on an experimental basis. Instead of two, there will now be three shows.
Civil defence
Departmental heads of government offices have been asked to send the names and addresses of persons interested in civil defence training to unit deputy director M M Pathan. Departmental heads have been instructed to grant leave to such people.
DD programme
A programme on the Vanchetna Centre set up by the Social Forestry Department in Panchmahals will be telecast on Doordarshan Ahmedabad-Vadodara on Tuesday at 7.15 pm.
Two fires in city
Two fires were reported in Arunodaya Society and at Sardar Patel Estate on Monday. Domestic goods worth Rs 50,000 was destroyed in the first one, while plastic goods were gutted in the second. There were no casualties.
