Festivals celebrated with gaiety
Three festivals were celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety in various parts of the city on Wednesday. A wedding procession of Lord Narsinhji was carried out from the Mandvi area on evening to mark his marriage with Goddess Tulsi. Earlier in the day members of the Sikh community paid obeisance at various Gurudwaras in the city and Langars were organised on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Citizens lit fire crackers late in the evening to mark Dev Diwali.

Profit centre
The first independent profit centre of the Gujarat Electricity Board8217;s Rajkot Circle will be inaugurated by Energy Minister Kaushik Patel on Saturday. Setting up of profit centres is one of the conditions laid down by the Asian Development Bank ADB for giving funding support to the Board. The centre is aimed at reducing transmission and distribution losses and providing effective services to the consumers apart from giving speedy connections.

Short story
Purnima Itayrat will present a short story Maro Vakri Thayeho Var8217; My Angry Husband on Thursday on All India Radio, Ahmedabad and Vadodara, at noon.

Medical camp
A free medical camp for examination and diagnosis of skin diseases will be held at Ami Clinic on November 6. Ayurvedic practitioner Kiran Joshi will conduct the camp at Shivba Kutir, Dandia Bazar between 11 am and 6 pm. Patients can seek appointments on 437729.

Road closed
The road between Raopura Tower and Old Magistrate8217;s office will be closed for vehicular traffic from November 9 to December 20 as the Vadodara Municipal Corporation will lay a new 300 mm diameter drainage pipeline four meter below the ground level. Alternatively, the citizens have been asked to use the Laljikui road opposite Mishra Shala number 10.

Dance recital
Renowned Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer and Director of Ellora Centre for Performing Arts Rema Shrikant has been invited to perform dance recitals and conduct lecture demonstrations by the Geetanjali Dance Academy of Osaka, Japan. She will leave for Japan on November 7.

Programme
Engineers India Limited will organise an Executive Development programme from November 12 to 14.
