PSI8217;s transfer recommended
Special Inspector-General of Police D D Tuteja has reportedly recommended the transfer of police sub-inspector B M Patel, of the Limkheda police station in Dahod district, for his alleged inability to prevent incidents of arson in Ramdhikpur town following a public meeting of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad last month.
This follows a report carried in The Indian Express on Tuesday. Tuteja has also ordered a departmental inquiry against PI K P Dindor, on deputation to Randhikpur police outpost, for his laxity in maintaining law and order in the town. Sources in the I-G office said the inquiry will also look into his alleged misbehaviour and support to VHP activists.
Arrest ordered
The district collector, on Tuesday, ordered the arrest of Bhupatsinh Mangrola, onwer of Shubham Petrol Pump, Mahuwad village, Padra under the Prevention of Black Marketing Act.
Congress protest
A section of Youth Congress workers staged a demonstration at Ghadiali Pol, M G Road here on Tuesday evening protesting against spiralling price of edible oil in the State and raised slogans against the BJP government.
