Two more Maratha aides arrested

Both Waghani and Patel had been arrested by the Athwalines police earlier in connection with an extortion and land-grabbing case after a complaint was filed by city-based builder Tarun Rawal in the police station. Both were on police remand until Thursday. Three others accused in the case, namely Dilip Supariwala, Nari Sawlani and Ishwar Raja, have already been booked under PASA by the city police.

A PCB release issued here this evening said that it had been established that the builders had used their underworld contacts and were actively involved with Maratha for the past few years.

Meanwhile, sources in the police department stated that one more case 8212; the fifth against Maratha and his associates 8212; was being prepared by the DCB, which is investigating into builder-underworld links.

Although the police have not officially registered a case, sources stated that Dilip Maratha and O P Singh 8212; both Chhota Rajan aides 8212; and ten others were named in a complaint by a leading share-broker of the city in his complaint.
