
PANCHKULA, Sept 6: A pedestrian and a scooterist were killed while two persons were injured in three separate accidents in the past 24-hours.
Bachi Devi, a resident of Raipur Rani, was killed on the spot when she was knocked down by a Haryana Roadways bus HR-O8-7798 as she was walking near village Gaddi Kotaha yesterday. She was accompanied by her husband, Jeet Singh, when the incident took place. The driver fled from the scene. Raipur Rani police have registered a case under Sections 279 and 304-A of the IPC.
In another accident near Pinjore, Sunil Kumar was killed on the spot while Chiranji Lal sustained injuries when their scooter was struck by a truck. Truck driver Bali Ram, a resident of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh sped away. Both the victims were residents of Sector 31, Chandigarh. Pinjore police have booked the truck driver for rash and negligent driving under Sections 279 and 304 A of the IPC.
In yet another accident, a Maruti car HP-03B-2750 struck a scooter, injuring Vikas Garg of Sector 6, Panchkula. The car driver fled from the scene. The police have registered a case under Sections 279, 337 of the IPC and investigations are on.
