Tripathi faces polygraph test; cops ‘solve’ his kin’s murder

Tripathi was first explained the significance of the polygraphy test and the method with which it works before the interrogation by senior officials of the CBI began, the sources said.

Under the provisions of law, Tripathi will have to give a written undertaking in front of forensic experts prior to polygraphy. And CBI officers are keeping their fingers crossed that the former minister will not change his mind in the laboratory. Tripathi, who is in CBI custody till tomorrow, during the past three-four days was not cooperating with the agency investigators and has not been replying to various key questions.

Meanwhile, UP police today claimed to have solved the sensational twin murder case of Amarmani’s uncle and aunt with the arrest of prime accused Mahendra Chauhan here.

SSP K.S. Pratap Kumar said the murder had nothing to do with Madhumita’s case and the motive behind it was burglary. He said Chauhan had confessed that he, with two others, had stabbed to death Amarmani’s uncle Yashodanand Mishra and aunt Kamla Devi while committing a burglary in their house here on Tuesday night. A massive hunt has been launched for the two other culprits, the SSP said.
