Mumbai judo squad

A 35-member judo team of men and women will represent Mumbai in the 26 Open Maharashtra State Judo Championship to be held in Pune on November 24-26. The competition will be held in men8217;s, women8217;s and junior girls8217; categories.

Bank badminton

The Bank of Maharashtra Krida amp; Sanskritik Mandal, Thane will be conductinga Inter-region Badminton tournament to select the Bank8217;s team for Regional and All-India Inter Bank Tournament. The event will be held on Nov 27 amp; 28 at Mulund Sports Complex.

Verma breaks record

Andheri Swimming Pool8217;s Sandeep Verma won the 6-km sea swimming race held off Naval Sailing Club, Colaba by Western Naval Command. Verma won in record time of one hour, 11 minutes and 24 seconds improving on 1995 mark of 1:24:11 hrs set by Sukhbinder Singh. Mulund Municipal Pool8217;s Mayur Mehta came second followed by Amar Muralidharan.

Ruma Chemburkar, 13, won the women8217;s first prize clocking 1:25:05.
