What does spirituality mean to you?

Everything which has to do with service, giving, doing things not just because you want to show people that you are doing it but for the sake of goodness itself. I do not believe in rituals and therefore do not believe in religions. I like the idea of wisdom given to us by prophets and high souls. It is about believing in god not within a particular faith but believing in the almighty, a higher force, karma, reincarnation, life after death. Isn8217;t nature a proof itself of god8217;s existence? The interconnectedness of everything. Everything that we do has a ripple effect on others. I work from instinct and intuition that is why I would like people to really have faith in themselves, to love themselves because it is so sad to have non forgiveness. If people do not cancel negative energy and make it positive, life cannot go on. Spirituality for me is something I do quietly, dance as therapy for HIV affected children for instance, work with thousands of physically challenged children for 25 years, I have been teaching in wheelchairs and crutches how to dance, as therapy. I did a show for Clinton and Richard Gere and with their fame, they help us help other people. Every single instructor in my schools go every single day to all the NGOs to teach the HIV and mentally or physically challenged kids. LIVE is living if you go forward, but if you go backward it becomes EVIL. If you do not go within, you will go without, we work from inside out, the same applies to the spirit. The decisions made with the body or mind are temporary, while those taken with the soul are eternal. Spirituality is more about service, giving, it is also to help people know their limitations, knowing their own flaws. I believe people taking responsibilities for what they are and what they are doing, finding contentment inside instead of always wanting more. The most foolish thing is pride. Spirituality is about knowing who you are and contributing because there is a ripple effect happening after that.

Do you believe you are guided and protected by a superior force?

My spiritual guides are the Bhavanagris, who so much helped me to understand life after death, karma reincarnation. About how we can8217;t expect to always say this is destiny. Destiny is what you make of it. There are destructive and constructive choices. The sad part is that a group we think we are single and we think 8220;I, I and I8221; instead of thinking as 8220;we8221;. The earth is going through such a rapid shift and if people do not change themselves, the planet itself being a living thing will just throw them up. What do you think the tsunami is if not throwing up? If you put a nuclear test in the center of the earth in India, an earthquake will happen in Gujarat. Nature is not an emotional being, what you give it, it will react to. If you tell your mind good thoughts good words good deeds, you will go there, anything negative it will go there, because you have free will, and free will is the greatest gift God has given you, so if you can only make the right choice, the law is such that if you do good you rise, if you do bad, you fall spiritually. It takes strength of will to make the right choice. You cannot have instant coffee in spirituality.

I do not believe in destiny, destiny is your birth and your death and the rest is what you make of it. You can meet people from various past lives and have connections but you can always say yes or no. tsunami is only the tip of the iceberg, so people8217;d better change.

I have always been blessed by God to have two spiritual guides called Vispi and Ratoo Bhavanagri. Their mother Koshit lost them in a car crash and she communicates with them through automatic writing. Through her they give us messages. Without them I do not know what my life would have been. Even when you go to a forest you need a guide with you to avoid the ditches. Every human soul has been given a spiritual guide. It is a mother and a father and a teacher, and your inner intuition, and guides from the spiritual realm. They have been saving me, protecting me through all those years. My life has changed so much after this encounter. Before I was dying to win the Grammy Awards, the Oscar, to be noticed and recognized. I still have a little of that in me, but it has changed, I feel there is much more in life than to have these things, it is great to have them but in the end you realize this is not what it is about, the real thing is your mission, why you are here, doing good but also enjoying life, right here, in the midst of everything and not running away to the mountains, be here and now. Be happy through all the tests.

Do you believe you have a special mission or purpose in this life?

Every single human soul has a spiritual guide, every single human soul has a mission and a gift. The gift can be healing, loving, helping people, it is not necessarily a profession, it can be just being a good listener, or changing the thoughts of someone about to commit suicide. Some people have unbelievable gifts and do not even know it, but once they discover it, they go into their mission.

What is spirituality for you in your day to day life?

I do not do meditation etc. but automatic writing etc.

God 8212; I think it is a 8220;he8221; not because a man or woman, but as a presence, it is a force of love, with utmost humility, strength, radiance of light and love, benevolence, omnipresence, omnipotence and so on. That can make things happen in the most harmonious happen. Who can create dogs, children. A giver of life and light. There is no words to describe what He has done and what He is. You can feel Him. You can8217;t prove God but He is there if you allow yourself to connect. Earth is not home, it is school it is the training ground, their real home is there, if they do not connect and go within, they go without. About automatic writing. The younger generation listens more than the older, which was brainwashed. They are so receptive.

What is the role of spirituality in your work?

I was offered many movies after I won a national award for my choreography for Diltopagala but my guides said, we are not forcing you but what is your priority? My school. So give time to that because people need you. So the movie helped me a lot it gave me good recognition, but I mustn8217;t get greedy, I would do a movie from time from time like Dhum 2 but I choose according to what I am up to with my school.

Can you tell us about a unique experience that changed or shaped your spiritual beliefs?

The day I met my Bhavanagris 26 years ago was the turning point of my life. A whole new world opened up to me. My entire life changed.

What are your spiritual inspirations?

Since I was a child, I have believed in Hanuman, Zoroaster, Shirdi Sai Baba and many others, because I feel they all are like the spokes of a wheel, coming to one center, leading to the same place. But the reason I love Vispi and Ratoo so much is that they do not tell you to fast or pray a thousand times a day. Rather, they insist on you doing your soul8217;s work 8212; if you illuminate yourself, you will illuminate others like a lighthouse, and if you are on the right path, God will protect you.

If you were to be reincarnated, what would you like to be reincarnated as?

A good healthy human being who can serve the light.

How long will it take for You to take me into Your arms and hug me?

What is your idea of happiness?

Doing God8217;s work through all that I love such as dancing, singing, choreographing while pursuing my spiritual work, with health and happiness for my loved ones, and finding a balance through it all.
