Meanwhile, suspension and transfers of senior medical teachers, which were ordered earlier by the Health Ministry had been revoked and work in medical and dental college resumed, said Sidhu.

He said, a delegation of Amritsar unit of PSMDTA met Maheshinder Singh Garewal, Minister of Medical Education and Research yesterday at Ludhiana and apprised him of their problems and appealed for an immediate solution. He said the minister had assured us to take up the matter with Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who according to him was keen to resolve and consider agitating medical teachers8217; demands sympathetically.

It may noted that the Amritsar unit of PSMDTA spearheaded the agitation which later spread to medical colleges of Faridkot and Patiala.
