A DAY after he donned a delivery agent’s uniform and hit the streets of Delhi to highlight the plight of gig workers, AAP MP Raghav Chadha thanked the BJP government for its intervention in the matter. Chadha, who has been pushing for reforms in the gig economy, said the move will improve the safety of gig workers. “I am deeply grateful to the Central Government for its timely, decisive and compassionate intervention in enforcing the removal of the ‘10-minute delivery’ branding from quick-commerce platforms,” he said on X. “…Over the past months, I have spoken to hundreds of delivery partners. Many are overworked, underpaid and risking their life to fulfill an unrealistic promise.”
UNION AGRICULTURE Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday visited Gujarat’s Bhavnagar district, where he took part in ‘Atmanirbhar Hanol Mahotsav-2026’ held in Hanol village. Chouhan and his wife Sadhana Singh were accorded a traditional welcome by the residents. As part of the customary reception, the couple toured the village on a bullock cart decorated according to local customs. The minister also drew water with a bucket from a well in the village. Notably, Hanol is the village of Chouhan’s Cabinet colleague, Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
BHOJPURI SINGER-ACTOR Ritesh Pandey, who quit Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj Party in Bihar, triggered speculation about his political future during a Celebrity Cricket League match in the Capital on Tuesday. As he rubbed shoulders with BJP leaders, including North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari and Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva, party insiders wondered if there was more to the match than met the eye. In a post on X on Monday, Pandey, who unsuccessfully contested the recent Bihar elections from Kargahar seat, announced his resignation from the primary membership of JSP saying it was “extremely difficult” to continue serving the people “while being an active member of any political party”.
