CHANDIGARH, Jan 31: Bhuvan ‘s unbeaten knock of 22 runs and fine spell by Sunny Behl (3 for 7) enabled St Stephen’s School-45 beat Minerva Public School by eight wickets to enter the final of the ICSE schools cricket tournament being held at St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School in Sector 44. St Stephen’s will clash with St Xavier’s in the final to be played on February 6.
St Stephen’s won the toss and elected to field. The duo of Sunny and Varun, who scalped three wickets each, restricted the rival batsmen from scoring and the team was bowled out for a paltry score of 49 runs in 15 overs.
In reply, St Stephen’s got the winning total in 10.1 overs.
Bhuvan (22 not out) and Sachin (10 not out) were the main run getters for the eventual winners.

AG chess
Hari Om Sharma continued his good run in the ongoing North Zone Accountant General (AI and AD) chess championship being held at AG Haryana premises in Sector 33.
In the match today, Hari Om got the better of SK Sinha to win four points. Baij Nath Prasad and GP Singh, both with three points each are lying second at the end of the fourth round.

Kabaddi meet
Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (circle) would hold third Prime Minister International kabaddi tournament at Islamabad from March 19 to 23. According to JP Sharma, secretary, Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India, apart from India, teams from Canada and England have are also expected to take part in the meet.
The World Kabaddi Federation would also hold its meeting in the first week of February at Chandigarh.
Cricket tourney

Bakshi appointed
Rakesh Bakshi, secretary, Chandigarh Football Association, has been appointed match commissioner of National League football encounter between JCT, Phagwara and Churchill Brother, Goa, to be held at Ludhiana on February 3.
Football trials
Chandgiarh Football Association will hold trials on February 2, to select twenty-five probables for the forthcoming sub-junior national football championship for Mir Iqbal Hussian Trophy (under-16) slated to be held at New Delhi from February 15. The trials will be held at Government Model Senior Secondary School-23, from 3 p.m.
Players born on or after January 1, 1983, will be eligible to participate in the trials.
