MUMBAI, FEB 17: The time table of the examinations for Secondary School Certificate SSC in language papers have been changed following pressure from the students.

The Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Pune announced today that the language papers scheduled for March 17 will now be held on March 26 Friday between 11 am to 2 pm, while language papers scheduled for March 16 will be held on March 27 Saturday between 11 am and 1 pm.

The Board decided on the change in time table after students complained they found the lengthy language paper too taxing in the afternoon after they had appeared for social science papers in the morning.

When contacted officials from the Mumbai divisional board SSC and HSC stated that this move will not set a trend among examinees to pressure for change in time table in future.

Meanwhile, in a letter to the principal of Bhavans College, Andheri, D B Kadam, on Tuesday over a hundred HSC science students from the college demanded a day offbefore the examination for mathematics is held which they say comes immediately after the chemistry papers. While the chemistry papers have been for March 10 and 11, mathematics exam will be held on March 12 and 13.
