It may sound hard on both teams but at the end of the fourth day8217;s play the Test now appears to be heading for a draw. And that would only be perfect justice, since both teams do not deserve to lose this Test.

This I say with full authority, after having seen in dismay how Inzamam let the match slip. Thankfully, Afridi provided a brief spark but he was just that.

The other batsmen now have a huge task on hand, for this will be a record chase, and they must get on with the game. For India, the only chance will come once the Pakistani batsmen go into a shell. But still it will be a huge effort since the pitch is not aiding the spinners. Danish Kaneria8217;s ineffective show today only proved this.

I also feel that 90 overs is too less a time to get a team out. By this, I don8217;t mean we delayed the declaration, since I think it was a far call on the part of Sourav. Any captain would want to feel safe foremost, rather than make a bold declaration.

Finally, a word on the men who stole the show for India today. What do I say about Rahul? When I saw that statistic 8212; of his average being second only to the Don 8212; I felt proud to be an Indian. The icing on the cake for this Indian effort was the knock played by Laxman. He was brave and courageous enough to come back after being hit and played a nice little cameo with one eye closed.
