Song and dance

MPs seem to have become increasingly worried about their 8216;serious8217; image and the largely one-dimensional 8216;political8217; colour they are seen in. So they have taken to the Lok Sabha channel to bring their non-political talents into public view. On New Year8217;s Eve this year, while private channels air their regular Bollywood fare, the Lok Sabha channel will telecast rounds of Antakshari in which our honourable MPs will participate and entertain the public. Not stopping at that, the channel will organise and beam live a mushaira on Republic Day8212;on the special request of poetry-loving MPs from the Samajwadi Party. One only hopes that while the show is on, the MPs will manage to control their old habits of disrupting proceedings.
