Mahesh Bank lift title
Mahesh Sahakari Bank MSB lifted the Winners Cup defeating Suvarna Sahakari Bank SSB by five wickets in the final of the Inter Co-Operative Bank Six-A-Side cricket tournament, organised by Samapada Sahakari Bank, at PYC Gymkhana here today.

Suvarna Sahakari Bank batting first, were all out for 62 runs mainly due to an unbeaten knock of 44 by Rahul Kanade. Later Waltare and Oak steered Mahesh Sahakari Bank to an emphatic win with individual scores of 26 and 27 respectively, remaining unbeaten.

Earlier, in the semi-final on the same day MSB scored a 13 run victory over Rupee Bank, while SSB defeated Vidya Sahakari bank by an identical margin.

Avinash Jadhav MSB was named man of the series while the best batsman award went to Rahul Kanade SSB and best bowler award to Vishal Kshirsagar MSB.

At the validictory function, former test cricketer Chandu Borde along with D Agashe the former BCCI vice-president, Sampada Bank8217;s chairman S H Bhirange were present.

Brief Scores: Final Suvarna Sahakari Bank 62 for 2 Rahul Kanade 44 n.o. lost to Mahesh Sahakari Bank 64 for 1 Result: MSB won by five wickets.

Semi-finals Suvarna Sahakari Bank 86 for 1 Rahul Kanade 42 won against Vidya Sahakari Bank 73 for 3 Dixit 23 Result: SSB won by 13 runs. MSB 74 for 2 won against Rupee Bank 61 for 3.

State level boxing meet
The State level Invitational Boxing meet in the sub-junior category will be jointly conducted by the Maharashtra Amateur Boxing Association and the Pune District Amateur Boxing Association at the late Gen. Arunkumar Vaidya stadium from November 13 to 15.

The winner takes home a gold medal and certificate of merit. Further trophies have been allocated for best boxer, best loser and most promising boxer and also for the winning and runner-up group.

DGQA volleyball
The IV DGQA Inter-zonal volleyball championship got underway at the Controllerate of Quality Assurance SV Dehu Road here today. Five teams are in the fray for the title, namely, North, South, East West and Central Zones, and will be played on a league basis over a period of four days.

Earlier the tournament was inaugurated by T Ganeshraj, Offg. Chairman, West Zone Sports Council of DGQA. Results: West Zone b Central Zone 15-9, 15-3; South Zone b North Zone 15-3, 15-4; West Zone b East Zone 15-2, 15-4.

Invitational boxing meet
The Pune District Amateur Boxing Association will conduct a one day Invitational Boxing Meet in memory of the Rajkumar Dhere, alongwith Avdait Kreeda Kendra at the Late Arunkumar Vaidya Stadium on November 1 at 5.00 p.m. The meet will be held in three categories, namely Sub-junior, junior and seniors.
