Defending champion K K Puri8217;s success story ended when he was beaten 12-21, 21-19, 14-21 by former champion Rakesh Kaushal in the semifinal of DDCA table tennis tournament.
In the other semifinal, Sanjeev Rohtagi beat Anil Tandon 21-14, 21-16.
In men8217;s doubles, K K Puri and Sanjeev Rohtagi entered the final beating Anil Tandon and S S Chiller 21-4, 21-8 in the semifinal. earlier, they had beaten Maninder Singh Jaggi and Rakesh Kaushal 21-7, 21-9.

Verma8217;s hat-trick
A fine hat-trick by medium pacer Sachin Verma 4 for 11 who was well supported by Rajeev Pawar 3 for 18 helped Keshav Puram Cricket Club beat Laxmi Nagar Cricket Club by 35 runs in the inaugural Dayal Singh memorial tournament at Dayal Singh College ground.

Tour to S.Africa
The Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Trust will send a team of 16 school cricketers all in the under-19 age group to South Africa on September 21 to play 8-9 one-day matches there. The team members will also take the opportunity to visit Johannesburg, Cape Town and the Sun City, according to Sunil Dev, trustee of the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Trust. The team is scheduled to return on October 13. Trials to select the team to tour South Africa will be held on July 25 and 26. Eligible players should report at the Nehru Stadium at 9 am.
Schools cricket
An Indian school cricket team under-15 will tour England next month to play three three-day matches and as many one-dayers, according to an official of the School Games Federation of India India, who won the inaugural World School Cricket Cup by defeating Pakistan in 1996 in England where 10 teams took part, will be making its first trip aboard this year. The school team will also participate in matches to mark Sri Lanka8217;s golden jubilee celebrations in the islands later this year, the official said.
Landbase Golf
Landbase India organised its third annual golf tournament at its golf course The Classic Golf Resort8217;, India8217;s premier Signature Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus. The tournament was open for all Landbase employees and its associates.
