Don Bosco Youth Centre DBYC, Kurla will conduct their 29th Don Bosco Challenge Cup seniors football tournament at the Don Bosco Technical ground, Kurla, from January 16.

DBYC will also conduct a Veterans and Women8217;s tournaments. The veterans should be above 40 years. Those interested should contact Bro Frank Braganza on Tel: 514 5508 or Tony Rodrigues on Tel: 415 5447. Entries, for all the three tournaments, close on January 9 by 6.30 pm.

WI Amateur golf

The Classic Stripes-sponsored Western India Amateur golf championship tees off at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club, Chembur, today, January 6.The 72-hole strokeplay, which concludes on January 9, will feature the top amateurs of the country such as Rahul Gangjee of Calcutta and promising juniors Shiv Kapur and Ashok Kumar of Delhi. Classic Stripes has been sponsoring the tournament for the last three years.

Bernard to lead

Bernard Pereira will lead the Indian Goans in the inaugural Veteran Goans World Cup football tournament to be played in Goa. The other teams are Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Goa. Indian Goans will take on Oman on January 10.
