MUMBAI, Dec 27: Sole leaders emerged in each category in the Parle-G Inter-Schools Chess Festival at the St. Stanislaus school, organised by the Bandra Chess Club and conducted by Bombay Chess Association.

Vinay Kumar of Abhinav Vidyalaya, Dombivli in under-12, Siddharth Kotian in boys under-8, Mughdha Variyar of Gokuldham in Under-12 and Sharavari Desai of New Bombay school, Vashi in under-8 category emerged sole leaders. Vinay, Siddharth and Sharavari have not lost as yet.

Vinay 6 points defeated Sanju Malaikal in a Queen8217;s Gambit Accepted variation in 41 moves. In the second position in under-12 boys is Aditya Vora of Don Bosco, Matunga with 5.5 points.

Siddharth 6 is one point ahead of the rest of the field after his win over Saurabh Nayak in the sixth round. Saurabh shares the second spot with Priyal Nagre, Vatsal Shah and Joshua Michael on five points.

Mugdha 4.5 defeated her twin sister, Purva, in 49 moves of English Opening game. Mrudula Nambiar, Tanvi Thakur and Vrushali Kulkarni are inthe second spot with four points.
