CHANDIGARH, Dec 4: Sanjeev Joshan in 77kg category set three new meet records in senior section in the Chandigarh State 11th senior and first junior weightlifting meet at Panjab University Indoor Hall here today.

Sanjeev lifted 90kg in snatch to break the old meet mark by 20kg while in jerk he lifted 117.5kg to break the previous record by 12.5kg, which enabled him to improve the total lift of 175kg to 212.5kg. New marks were also set in 105kg and plus 105kg by Vikas Duggal and John Sanjeev, respectively.

Though, a few meet records were broken, overall there was luke warm response to the meet.

City shooting squad
Daleep Singh Chandel will lead Chandigarh team in the 43rd National shooting championship ISSF which begins from tomorrow at Phillaur. Other members of the team are Parminder Singh, Holinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, Harminder Singh, Sabeeha Dhillon and Aarti Mehta. Manjit Singh will accompany the team as official.
