PUNE, JULY 20: The Pune Municipal Commissioner Ratnakar Gaikwad inaugurated an ultra modern angiography machine at the Ruby Hall Clinic. The clinic now has got Philips Integris HM 2000 system. This system comes with high resolution monitors, first of its kind in India. This will be in addition to the two already fully functional Catheter laboratories.

For the patient, this will mean sophistication in image processing of pictures of the heart in various angles, a very good resolution and excellent storage of these images. The system will be used for taking pictures of the heart and also for arteries in the neck and legs.

It will clearly define any blocks that are present in these channels. Having this sort of latest technology helps advanced procedures like balloon angioplasty and implantation of stainless steel springs called stents in the heart arteries. The cost of the whole system is around Rs. 2.5 crore.

So far 22,000 procedures have already been done in this institution which included angioplasties, angioplasty and stent implantation. As per the latest figures from the National PTCA registry records of India, Ruby Hall Clinic comes first in the western India in angiographies and angioplasties.
