Virat Kohli’s instant comeback when Harshit Rana called Anushka Sharma ‘maam’: ‘Bhabhi bol inko’

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are quite the IT couple. Not just their fans, but even their colleagues have often lauded the equation they share. Recently, in an interview with Men’s XP, Virat Kohli’s teammate Harshit Rana revisited his first meeting with Anushka Sharma. Recalling the incident from India’s 2025 Champions Trophy dressing room, Harshit recalled how Virat responded when he met Anushka Sharma for the first time and addressed her as ‘maam’.

Sharing how he met Anushka in the team’s dressing room after the match, Harshit said, “I entered the dressing room, and Anushka Sharma was also there. I was meeting her for the first time. So I called her ma’am. Then he told me, ‘tu ma’am kyu bol raha hai inko? Bhabhi bol inko’ (Why are you calling her ma’am? Call her bhabhi).”

“I told him that I am meeting her for the first time. Then he told her that I am like that, and just some time ago I poured champagne on him, and I am calling her ma’am now,” Harshit Rana further added. The Indian pacer also shared that the former captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, is quite a funny personality. “He likes to joke a lot,” Harshit added.

While both Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have been away from the limelight, the couple has been residing in London for a few years now. They moved to London in 2024 following the birth of their son, Akaay. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma got married in 2017, and the couple welcomed their first daughter, Vamika, in 2021. Their son Akaay was born in 2024.

On the work front, while Anushka has taken a sabbatical from acting in the film industry after 2018, she was producing a few projects in Bollywood. Her very last appearances on screen were in Qala and later in The Romantics. The actress was supposed to make her comeback in Bollywood with Chakda ‘Xpress; however, the film’s release date is yet to be announced. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, will be seen playing a three-match ODI series in England in July 2026.
