Dhurandhar worldwide box office collection: Aditya Dhar’s period spy thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has completed its historic one-and-a-half-month run at the box office, and it’s still in no mood to settle down. Even on its 45th day, and its seventh weekend, the film continued to add a few more crores every day, allowing its overall domestic haul to cross another unprecedented milestone of Rs 875 crore, as per its producer Jio Studios. The film has earned Rs 1328.23 crore globally.

Dhurandhar domestic box office

On Sunday (day 45), its seventh one at the domestic box office, Dhurandhar added another Rs 3.75 crore to its collection. This was a decent improvement on its Saturday (day 44) earnings of Rs 3 crore. That was a drastic increase (71.43%) from its Friday (day 43) collection of Rs 1.75 crore, which was the film’s lowest single-day collection yet. Prior to that, Dhurandhar’s lowest bar was Rs 3 crore. Even in its sixth week at the domestic box office, the film amassed Rs 26.35 crore.

Dhurandhar faced some fresh competition from a much smaller release, Vir Das and Kavi Shastri’s spy comedy Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, produced by Aamir Khan. That film held its own in front of the Ranveer Singh juggernaut, opening at Rs 1.25 crore, only Rs 50 lakh less than what Dhurandhar earned that day, as per Sacnilk.

However, over its opening weekend, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos could earn only Rs 4.35 crore, still reeling under the effects of Dhurandhar, which minted Rs 8.50 crore, almost the double of the former, over its seventh weekend. Already the highest grossing Indian film at the domestic box office, Dhurandar has Rs 25 crore more to go before it can enter the unprecedented club of the Rs 900 crore club in India.

Dhurandhar worldwide box office

At the worldwide box office, the story is a little different. While Dhurandhar is as unstoppable there and has already amassed Rs 1328.23 crore at the global box office. It’s already the fourth highest grossing Indian film ever worldwide after beating the likes of Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 (2022) and SS Rajamouli’s RRR (2022).

But it still has a long way to go before it can topple Sukumar’s 2024 Telugu action thriller Pushpa 2: The Rule (Rs 1742.10 crore), starring Allu Arjun, to become the third highest grossing Indian film ever globally. It still needs over Rs 400 crore to surpass Pushpa 2, which was expected to add more to its global haul with its recent release in Japan.

However, as per Sacnilk, Pushpa 2: The Rule opened way lower than expectations in Japan last Friday, registering only 886 admissions. That’s drastically lower than other Indian films that have done considerably well in the country, like RRR, Saaho (2019), and Kalki 2898 AD (2024), which registered over 1000 admissions on their respective opening days.

Even if Dhurandhar surpasses Pushpa 2: The Rule, it’ll still have miles to go before it can edge past the two highest Indian grossers worldwide — Rajamouli and Prabhas’ Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1788.06 crore) and Nitesh Tiwari and Aamir Khan’s Dangal (Rs 2070.30 crore).
