Make overs
Every week some new international product is launched in the city. If it8217;s not a watch, then it8217;s a perfume or a make-up product. These launches are generally done through a big party at a five-star hotel with a guest list that reads like the entire directory of Mumbai8217;s glitterati. A good time is had by all but by end of the week, most people have even forgotten why the party was held 8212; and the name of the product is dismissed to the inner recesses of their minds.
To ensure that none of that happens to them, Clarins opted for a different strategy and decided to keep a low profile. Brought to the city by the House of Baccarose, Clarins 8212; among the world8217;s leading skincare and make-up brands 8212; flew down Thuy Ai Nguyen Dinh, their international training manager. Not only did she train beauty therapists in skin care, she also held special workshops for regular women. Attending these were Fashion Bistro8216;s Chhaya Momaya, the Ambassador Hotel8217;s Mona Narang, model co-ordinator RasnaBehl and food columnist Rashmi Uday Singh. They were taught that good skin care can come in three easy steps 8212; cleansing, toning and moisturising. The best part of the workshops, however, was the fact that attendees got a chance to use the product and decide for themselves if they liked it or not.
Marc Robinson is one model who has tried his hand at everything. First it was acting, then veejaying, now fashion choreography. He has met with success in some ventures and none in others. But what no one can deny is that he holds the best parties ever. And this Friday proved that point. Marc held a special event at Cafe Ole, the sports bar at Crossroads, to congratulate the new Miss Indias. He roped in all his friends from the glamour industry and spotted there were Sumeet Chopra, John Abraham, Rocky S, Atul Kasbeker, Daboo Ratnani, Kelly Dorji, Viveka Babajee and Helen Brodie, to name but a few. Most of the guests also got a fabulous going- away present as well, what with 100 people getting a specialgold card that will allow them to avail of a 50 per cent discount on drinks and food at the bar.
Apparently, Marc will be doing more events at Crossroads which means we are going to have to add the label of entertainment manager to his name. Is there no end to his talent?
Kind call

Now you all know that Swatch has been launched in Mumbai. But how many of you remember that Meghana Reddy was their brand ambassadress? Well, if you had forgotten that you cannot be blamed. Meghana is no longer representing the watch company as they felt she spent too much time out of the country 8212; away from the Indian public8217;s eye. So now the hunt is on again for a new face and the credentials are simple. The girl has to be a high-profile model. Why do watch companies think that only beauty can plug their product? We wish they would try may be a slightly less glamorous women who has actually achieved something!
