Just when you think that Dev Anand is ready to hang up his hat, he comes up with a new number. This time, it8217;s Censor, where he has launched two new lovelies and is still looking out for another male lead. The glittering party at The Leela last week for the launch was a well-attended affair. The star of the show was undoubtedly Dev Anand himself, who continues to defy time, and challenges all notions of age by looking as fresh-as-a -daisy after the party as he did before it. Also present were Hema Malini, who plays his wife, resplendent in black, Raj Babbar, Sunil Anand, Jackie Shroff, Ayesha Jhulka, Karan Johar, Yash Chopra, Mink and a whole bunch of people who were just dying to catch Anand8217;s attention. The film, promises Anand, is all about saying no to unpleasantness _ drugs, liquor, and any other vice you can think of. quot;If it gets past that censors, I am sure that this movie will create quite a stir,quot; he said, in his characteristic style.Seeing the waypeople rally around him, lending support, to all his ventures, never mind what the track record of his last film, what can you say about the man?

The other party that happened all the way across town at the Ambassador was one thrown by Sony TV, to celebrate the completion of 100 episodes of Movers and Shakers. The Sony bigwigs _ Kunal Dasgupta and Raveena Raj Kohli, burnt up the dance floor, as did all those who were present. These included Gary Lawyer, who chose to only observe from the sidelines. But that was only after Shekhar Suman addressed the gathering and made several attempts at being funny, alongwith Shailesh Dave, the concept creator of the show. There was a lucky dip held in honour of the event, and the lucky8217; winners got an autographed picture of Shekhar Suman. Wow!! Could anyone ask for more?

Anyone who chanced to pass Nepean Sea Road this weekend had quite a surprise in store forthem. For fashion designer Krishna Mehta began her annual sale, offering a discount of 30 to 60 per cent on a wide range of men8217;s and women8217;s wear. This was why the doors of her beautiful boutique were thrown open well after the clock ticked past closing time. quot;It8217;s been an absolutely fantastic and brilliant sale,quot; said a jubilant Krishna Mehta.

Though the offer officially began on the 20th of the month, all of her regular clients turned up a day earlier, on Friday itself. quot;So that they could have the first choice of picking up the garments,quot; exults Mehta.

On the rack for women are a choice of ethnic wear like ghagra cholis and embellished saris. But western outfits are what seem to have to caught the masses8217; eye more.
